Course Description

As globalization continues to blur the lines between national economies, the ability to understand and accurately file international information returns has become indispensable for ensuring compliance and maintaining transparency in cross-border transactions.

This course offers a basic exploration of the mechanisms, regulations, and best practices surrounding international information returns and will provide participants with the knowledge needed to manage the demands of global tax reporting effectively. Attendees will gain an introductory understanding of the various types of international information returns, the circumstances under which they are required, and the potential consequences of non-compliance.

  • Summarize the global tax landscape and the role of information returns in promoting tax transparency and compliance

  • Evaluate the in-depth analysis of key international information returns, including 5471, 5472, FBAR (FinCEN Form 114), Form 8938 (Statement of Specified Foreign Financial Assets), FinCEN BOI, and others relevant to cross-border financial activities

  • List strategies for identifying reporting obligations based on the nature of international transactions and effectively gathering the necessary information to fulfill these obligations
